Latest Project: Gratitude Tree

Gratitude Tree

The gratitude tree is a meditative process of creating a tree and taking the time to fill its branches with that which brings your heart joy.

Start by creating a tree trunk that reflects your feelings for the day, and then paint it black or brown.

After this, take the time to consider the things that you are truly grateful for, and write them along your trees branches.

Finally, paint some colour around the words to envelop your tree with leaves and a beautiful blue sky.

This is such a beautiful experience to do alone, or to share with your children. Remember to keep your art somewhere within eyesight to fill you with gratitude each time you take a glance.

About kintsugi

Kintsugi Art Therapy Blog was created to document my own art therapy process in order to provide people in Adelaide and beyond with a range of resources to be able to use art to therapeutically calm and heal in an autonomous way.

The term Kintsugi refers to the ancient Japanese art of gilding broken pottery to repair and make it more beautiful than it was before. In the same way, art therapy uses creative art to repair and heal a broken soul.
